Although the first day of Winter is still far off, it feels like Fall is coming to a close here. In Saskatchewan Halloween seems to mark the tail end of pumpkin sightings, and the leaves have mostly fallen by this point. Thanksgiving has long passed for us Canadians, and we enter November with thoughts of cozy Winter nights and Christmas festivities to look forward to. I thought today would be a good day for my first “real post” since the work I want to share involves a pumpkin! This piece evokes fond memories of Autumn for me.
It may sound a bit odd but I’ve been really into Cinderella lately. She’s my favorite Disney princess and quite possibly my favorite Disney movie as well. It all started when I found an old long blue bridesmaids dress from my parent’s wedding and decided to make a Cinderella costume for Halloween out of it. That’s what started the craze…then as I was making my costume throughout the month of October, lo and behold, the movie came out of the Disney vault! Of course I bought it and watched it right away. It inspired this little project:
I feel like we all need a little bit of Disney inspiration every once in a while :). It’s amazing when you go back and watch these movies as an adult how inspiring the message can be. That Walt Disney…he knew his stuff.
